Crescentini Gaining MLB Attention

University of Tampa and Palm Beach Blazers right handed pitcher Marcus Crescentini has been unhittable so far this season as he is holding opposing hitters to a .031 batting average.  In 10 innings pitched Marcus has struck out 17 batters and has only given up 1 hit.  Crescentini made the transition this year from being a starting pitcher to a relief pitcher/closer which has been a great move as he routinely now sits 91-94 MPH and has touched 97 MPH which is getting him a lot of attention from Major League scouts.  Blazers Head Coach Jason Shone is excited to have Marcus back for the 2014 season.  "Marcus is going to have a great impact in our bullpen, he pounds the zone and goes right after batters", said Shone.

Right now the University of Tampa is ranked #1 in the NCAA Division 2 baseball poll with a 20-1 record and is looking to make another World Series run as they won the 2013 National Championship.  "We are very appreciative that Coach Urso (University of Tampa Head Coach) has been very supportive of the SFCBL by sending us quality players year after year", said South Florida Collegiate League President Vince Farfaglia.  "I have seen Marcus develop over the last 3 years as a pitcher, he has a big future in this game.  We are excited to have him back in a Blazers uniform and in the SFCBL".
